SERVICE

SPECIALIZED HOMES & SUPPORT SERVICES

At Jumto Community Ltd., we provide a comprehensive circle of care through four interconnected service types. Grounded in a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe model, our services are designed to meet children, youth, and families where they are, honoring their unique traditions, connections, and path to healing.

1. Specialized Long-Term Care

A Foundation for Lasting Healing and Belonging

Jumto provides ongoing, stable, and nurturing care in a culturally grounded home environment for youth who require sustained support. This service provides a foundation for developing the skills and connections needed for a healthy transition to adulthood.

Our dedicated care teams work collaboratively with the child/youth, their family, Elders, and community partners to develop and implement a holistic, goal-driven SHSS Service Plan. We prioritize trauma-informed practice, cultural continuity, and family preservation, ensuring that every young person has a sense of permanency, belonging, and purpose within their community. Care is delivered by qualified professionals who support daily living, life skills, education, and community inclusion.

2. Low-Barrier Short-Term Stabilization Care

Meeting Youth in Crisis with Compassion and Flexibility

A flexible, short-term service designed for youth (typically for a period of 3 to 9 months) who are experiencing an immediate crisis or instability that threatens their current living situation.

Using a harm-reduction lens, we provide immediate, judgment-free stabilization. Our dedicated clinical team works with the youth and their SHSS Care Circle to develop a comprehensive stabilization and transition plan. We focus on reconnecting youth to essential mental health resources, cultural supports, and their family network to build a stronger path forward.

3. Emergency Care

A Safe Place When It’s Needed Most

Our emergency care services are immediate, short-term accommodation for children and youth facing a sudden crisis, safety concerns, or placement breakdown. This service provides an urgent, safe harbor in a time of need.

Our staffed homes are available on a 24hour basis  to provide immediate warmth, safety, and security. From the first day, our team focuses on building trust and ensuring physical and emotional safety. We work diligently to maintain critical family and community connections while collaborating with the child’s Primary Professional and Resource Worker to design a clear, strengths-based transition plan to the next appropriate care setting.

4. Respite Care

Supporting the Whole Family by Supporting the Caregiver

Our respite care services is a vital family preservation service designed to offer parents, guardians, and caregivers a temporary break from the demands of caregiving. This service helps prevent caregiver burnout and supports the stability of the family unit.

Offered as a planned or emergency support, respite care provides children and youth with a structured, culturally safe environment. Our care providers ensure that children maintain their regular routines, including school, therapies, and community activities. This allows caregivers a moment to rest and recharge, knowing their child is safe and well-supported, ultimately preventing the need for full-time care entry.

Our Commitment: A Circle of Care

Across all four programs, our services are guided by core principles that ensure persons served receive care that is:

  • Child, Youth, Family, and Community-Centred: The Child/Youth’s Voice is central to decision-making, and our plans are co-created with their trusted SHSS Care Circle.
  • Culture-Centred: We are committed to Cultural Continuity and Culturally Safe practices, honoring the identity, heritage, and wisdom of Indigenous communities.
  • Inclusive, Collaborative, and Accountable: We operate with transparency, building trusting relationships with families, partners, and the Ministry, and we adhere to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Focused on Resilience, Wellness, and Healing: We use evidence-informed, trauma-informed approaches to empower individuals to build resilience and achieve their personal goals.

Our team is dedicated to creating environments that are safe, empowering, and deeply healing
